I am a consultant urological surgeon in Leeds, committed to providing great quality care to my patients.
I obtained my primary medical qualification in 1998 and then trained as a urologist with special interest in pelvic-oncology and robotic surgery in Leeds and wider Yorkshire.
A clinical scholarship from The Urology Foundation and Ralph Shackman Trust allowed me to undertake clinical visits to centres of excellence in United States (University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo and Virginia Mason Medical Centre, Seattle) and Germany (Martini Klinic, Hamburg) to further my robotic surgical skills in nerve-sparing robotic prostatectomy and robotic cystectomy.
I was appointed as a consultant urologist with special interest in pelvic-oncology at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2014 and have also taken up the role of clinical lead for the bladder cancer multi disciplinary team. As a trained robotic and open pelvic surgeon, I developed the robotic radical cystectomy programme with intra-corporeal urinary diversion in Leeds which is very well established now and has allowed significant reduction in post-operative hospital stay, blood transfusion rates, hospital stay and overall recovery time for bladder cancer patients.
I have a strong research background with over a dozen scientific and clinical research publications and over 20 scientific presentations at national and international urology meetings. I was awarded higher research degree, MD (Res) by the University of Leeds in 2012 for my research into development of pre-clinical models for invasive bladder cancer.

My wife is an Obs and Gynae doctor and I am a proud father of twin sons who are currently studying for A-levels. In my busy work schedule, free time is a precious commodity and I prefer to use it to relax by reading interesting books, travelling to new places, appreciating good wine and whenever possible, I love to play cricket with colleagues and friends.
