I am a consultant general surgeon offering a general surgical and coloproctology service. My main areas of interest are advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques in the treatment of colonic and rectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as specialist proctology including haemorrhoids, fissure and fistula. I also offer a comprehensive approach to the management of abdominal and groin hernias, mainly using laparoscopic techniques.
I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Leeds medical school and completed my basic surgical training in Hull. I gained my MD after a period of postgraduate research at the University of Hull researching the genetic origins of colorectal cancer and the impact of laparoscopic surgery on its management. I did my higher surgical training in the Yorkshire region as well as a senior fellowship at the world renowned specialist centre for coloproctology St Marks Hospital in London.
