I am a Consultant Dermatological Surgeon. My main interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. I am the only dermatological surgeon in the Yorkshire region to be accredited by the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery, having undertaken a two-year fellowship at the Skin Cancer Institute, New Zealand.
I specialise in Mohs surgery - a specialised technique using a microscope at the time of surgery to ensure all the roots of a skin cancer are removed. Mohs surgery offers the highest cure rate following facial skin cancer removal and subsequently allows a cosmetically pleasing repair to be performed (as the hole to remove the cancer is kept as small as possible).
I graduated from the University of Leicester and undertook my postgraduate training at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. I then specialised in dermatology in Manchester where I developed my interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery.
My main research interests are in highlighting surgical techniques that provide patients with the best results. I am one of the most widely published dermatological surgeons in the UK.
