Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex. I subspecialise in spine surgery, neuro-endoscopy and I have established a service for percutaneous balloon kyphoplasty for painful vertebral fractures.
As an established member of a busy neurosurgical centre I treat a large number of patients with brain and spinal neurosurgical diseases. I am an experienced and cautious practitioner who carefully considers all treatment options for spinal and brain disorders. I spend time explaining the natural progression of a condition and the various treatment options to my patients, in plain English, before any decisions are made about treatment.
At Spire Hartswood Hospital, I take time to discuss the problems affecting each individual, before taking advantage of the onsite MRI and other diagnostic facilities available to identify the issue.
I was appointed Consultant Neurosurgeon at Oldchurch Hospital, now Queen's Hospital, in 2001.
I qualified as a doctor in Pécs, Hungary in 1982. After two years working as a trainee in Pathology I started my basic and then specialist training in Neurosurgery at the University of Pécs, Hungary. Having passed the Neurology and Neurosurgery Board Examinations, I came to the UK in 1993 to gain further experience. I passed the European Board Examination in 1995 and the FRCS Surgical Neurology Examination in 1998. My UK neurosurgical training took place at the National Hospital in Queen Square, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, Charing Cross and Oldchurch Hospitals.
