For World Cancer Day (4 February) we would like to inform you about our amazing cancer services here at Spire Harpenden Hospital and the fantastic team that make it.
Heartwood, our dedicated chemotherapy ward, opened in 2015 and has been accredited with an ‘outstanding’ Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM). Our multidisciplinary team including surgeons, oncologists and specialist nurses will ensure that our patients are as comfortable as possible during treatment. Private chemotherapy treatment at Spire Harpenden Hospital is carried out in the comfort and privacy of your own en-suite room with a state-of-the-art scalp cooling system available to minimise hair loss. Patients benefit from a patient centred approach, with individually tailored treatment regimes led by specialist consultant oncologists. To make the process as straightforward as possible, we offer flexible appointment times and calm, clean surroundings in our dedicated chemotherapy ward.
For those who have received a cancer diagnosis, our highly experienced team of surgeons and specialist support staff will work together to deliver excellent care. They aim to ensure that you are looked after from the moment of your diagnosis, throughout your treatment and aftercare. It is important to us that you feel safe, confident and reassured every step of the way.
