I see patients with all types of heart disease, including angina, palpitations, hypertension, heart failure and valvular heart disease. I perform coronary angiography and angioplasty procedures, including complex coronary intervention and pacemaker implantation.
I hold the posts of Consultant Cardiologist at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Hertfordshire, Visiting Professor at Imperial College, London and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.
Having qualified in medicine at St Bartholomew's Medical School, University of London, I then undertook my specialist cardiology training at major London teaching hospitals, including the Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, Royal Free, St Thomas' and St Mary's Hospitals. I have two higher postgraduate degrees, a post-doctoral MD from Imperial College and a post-doctoral PhD from King's College London.
In the NHS, I teach and train junior doctors in these techniques.

Research and publications
My research interests are in thrombosis and coronary angioplasty. I head up the cardiology research group at East and North Herts and am actively engaged with research and teaching both at Imperial College and at University of Hertfordshire. I have published extensively in peer-reviewed, high impact, international journals, and continue to do so and to lead a very active role in research. The publications are available in the public domain on PubMed.
