I started as a consultant with the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in October 2017. I am the only female colorectal surgeon at the Trust and one of a small minority nationally.
My surgical interests include surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, gall bladder disease, hernia surgery and all minor proctological conditions. I perform lower gastro-intestinal endoscopy.
I have sub-specialist expertise in laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
I qualified from Nottingham University Medical School and completed higher surgical training in the Northeast Thames region, with a final year in Specialty Laparoscopic training. During the course of my training I have completed my research degree in Diverticular Disease and Epidemiology at Kings College London. In addition, I have worked on design and project management for surgical simulation applications for both educational and theatre work flow settings.
