Specialises in
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in shoulder and elbow surgery, with 19 years of experience as a doctor and currently in my fourth year of consultant practice.
I graduated in medicine from University College London and completed my higher surgical training on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation, one of the UK’s leading orthopaedic training programmes. I subsequently undertook three advanced fellowships in upper limb surgery at high-volume specialist centres, developing comprehensive expertise in both routine and complex shoulder and elbow conditions.
I utilise computer-assisted and GPS-navigated techniques in shoulder arthroplasty to optimise precision and implant positioning, alongside a high-volume subspecialist practice dedicated entirely to upper limb surgery.
I provide a full spectrum shoulder and elbow service, including arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, joint replacement, fracture management and ultrasound-guided injections. My practice is built around a one-stop approach, using musculoskeletal ultrasound within clinic to enable rapid diagnosis and immediate, image-guided treatment where appropriate.
I regularly manage conditions such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, frozen shoulder, arthritis, tendon injuries and complex shoulder and elbow trauma. I perform a high volume of shoulder and elbow procedures each year and undertake approximately three times the national average number of shoulder arthroplasty procedures (as reported by the National Joint Register), reflecting a high level of subspecialist experience in joint replacement surgery.
I am actively involved in research, teaching and training, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international meetings. My aim is to deliver efficient, evidence-based care that enables patients to recover quickly and return to their normal activities with confidence.
To date, I have gained extensive experience in shoulder and elbow surgery through comprehensive higher surgical training and multiple advanced upper limb fellowships at leading UK centres. This has provided me with a broad exposure to both routine and complex conditions, including trauma, degenerative disease and revision surgery.
I have developed particular expertise in arthroscopic techniques, joint replacement and fracture management, managing patients across both NHS and private practice. In addition, I treat selected wrist and hand conditions, including wrist fracture fixation, carpal tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel decompression, cubital tunnel decompression and trigger finger, allowing me to provide a complete upper limb service where appropriate.
Alongside my clinical practice, I hold a substantive NHS Consultant post at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I am involved in the management of complex upper limb conditions and trauma. I have an active role in teaching and training medical students, junior doctors and orthopaedic trainees, and have contributed as a tutor on regional and national courses.
I remain actively engaged in ongoing professional development to ensure I provide the highest standard of care. I am also involved in clinical research, audit and service development, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing upper limb surgery.
