Professional profile

Having graduated in Cairo in 1991, I finished my orthopaedic training after eight years at Ain Shams University in Cairo where the main focus was on spinal surgery. I completed a doctorate thesis on spinal deformities in 2000. I have continued to develop further experience in all aspects in orthopaedics in the UK since 2002. I have completed two post CCT advanced training fellowships at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and at the Royal Derby Hospital for 30 months. During my years of experience I have developed wide expertise in the modern techniques in spinal surgery including microdiscectomy, non destabilising spinal decompression, spinal fusion using interbody cages and pedicle screws for spinal instability and for back pain if indicated. I am also competent in performing mini access surgery (balloon kyphoplasty) and spinal fixation for fractures.

Personal Profile

I enjoy spending time with my family and share many interests with my daughters. I have great interest in computers, building my own PCs and tailor them to my needs.

I am also a dedicated Arsenal fan despite suffering the disappointment for so many seasons.
