I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at East and North Herts NHS Trust. I was appointed as a consultant in 2010 and I specialise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, particularly for the surgical treatment of bowel cancer. This includes performing a day case keyhole procedure to remove early cancers and large polyps from the lower bowel. I also treat a wide range of non-cancerous bowel and anal conditions, such as piles, diverticular disease, and anal fistulas. In addition, I perform endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) and surgery for gallstones and hernias, such as groin hernias and umbilical hernias.
I qualified from Manchester University, and trained in general surgery on the North West London training programme. I underwent specialist training in colorectal surgery at St Mark's and Chelsea Westminster Hospitals.
I endeavour to take a compassionate and personal approach, ensuring patients feel comfortable and fully understand the treatment options available to them. I take time to explain things clearly and understand the anxieties a patient may experience. As such, I receive regular positive feedback and testimonials.
