MA (Cantab) MB BChir FRCS (ORL-HNS)
I have been working in the field of ENT for over 10 years and am still as enthusiastic about the specialty as the day I started. I enjoy the variety of patients I see and making a real difference to their quality of life.
I trained in Cambridge (undergraduate and postgraduate) and after house officer jobs I went to London where I completed my training. I very much enjoyed my placement at Great Ormond Street Hospital, so after I finished my training in the UK I underwent a fellowship in paediatric ENT in a specialist children's hospital in Edmonton, Canada. It was wonderful experience not only in ENT but in how another healthcare system works.
I am a consultant in ENT at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and have a wide and varied practice. I treat patients with recurrent tonsillitis, children and adults with glue ear, benign head and neck lumps, nasal obstruction, snoring, sinusitis problems, snoring and sleep disordered breathing, ear infections, perforated eardrums, prominent ear, and cosmetic nose deformities after trauma.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Miss Marie Lyons at Spire include:
Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Harpenden Hospital.
I live in St Albans and have two children. I enjoy swimming and am a member of Rock Choir - a group of amateur singers who have achieved national prominence with a new album this year.
