Dr Vijay Kandala
MBBS, MD, MRCP, FRCPCH
At Spire Harpenden Hospital I see children with all general paediatric problems. I have a special interest in neurological disorders in children which includes seizures, headaches, behavioural problems, and neurodevelopment. I run a regular "fits, faints and funny turns" clinic at Spire Harpenden Hospital. I also sees children with allergy, gastrointestinal problems, renal, and respiratory problems. I provide care for young infants including newborn examinations.
I have been a Consultant Paediatrician at QEII and Lister Hospitals since 2004. I graduated in Medicine in 1990 and completed post graduate training in paediatrics leading to the award of MD in Paediatrics in 1994. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and am a college tutor for paediatrics at the East & North Herts NHS Trust.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Harpenden Hospital.
I am married with two young children. Outside of medicine, I spend most of my free time with my family. I thoroughly appreciate the great joys and challenges of parenthood. In my spare time I play cricket, badminton and enjoy reading.
