I qualified from University College, London in 1991. I trained in general medicine and rheumatology at St Bartholomew's, Charing Cross and the Hammersmith hospitals and the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, London. I have completed a doctoral thesis on issues concerned with the assessment of early inflammatory arthritis and biological therapy following research undertaken at the Kennedy Institute. I have published on these and related topics and was involved with early clinical trials on the use of novel biological agents in rheumatoid arthritis. During my earlier training I completed a Master's degree in immunology and retain an interest in the immunology of rheumatic disease.
My current clinical practice is broad and involves the entire spectrum of rheumatological disease but I am particularly interested in inflammatory arthritis, soft tissue disease and osteoporosis.
