I am accredited in both Cardiology and General Medicine and have a special interest in the early diagnosis and prevention of heart disease.

I am a consultant cardiologist at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and visiting consultant at Harefield Hospital. I was clinical director of cardiology and metabolic medicine from 2002-2008.

I qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1988 and trained in Oxford, where my doctorate (DPhil) was in looking at complex genetic predisposition to disease for which I was elected to a college fellowship.

I subsequently specialised in cardiology with further training at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School (Hammersmith Hosptial) and Harefield Hospital.
