I have been passionate about endocrinology, diabetes and general medicine from my time at medical school and after my early postgraduate training I started specialist training in 2000. I have been a consultant since 2007 and became the lead for the endocrinology and diabetes services in Halifax and Huddersfield in 2010.

Within my specialty I have extensive experience of managing thyroid disease, low testosterone levels, tiredness and fatigue, irregular menstrual periods, diabetes and obesity.

In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy working closely with the University of Huddersfield helping teach healthcare staff about diabetes.

I have been keen to research new aspects of hormone treatments and have published a number of scientific articles in the specialist journals. I have published articles on diabetes, testosterone deficiency, growth hormone deficiency, thyroid and adrenal disease.

Consultant in General Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust

I grew up in the City of Bath and chose Leeds Medical School because of its good reputation and my strong family connections with Yorkshire. I live in Northowram with my wife and two young girls who keep us busy. We enjoy family trips out and regularly spend time in Filey on the East Yorkshire coast. When I get chance I enjoy a round of golf at my local course. I am a trained glider pilot although because of busy family commitments I don't get much opportunity to fly.
