Some of the principal treatments carried out by Ms Nicki Yelland at Spire include:
I graduated from Coventry School of Physiotherapy in 1989 and completed my first junior rotation at Nottingham Queens Medical Centre. After starting to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy I travelled and worked in South Asia and Australia for two years before returning to Nottingham to continue my specialism. Whilst in Nottingham I continued to develop my interest in spinal pathology and treatments developing multidisciplinary spinal pathways and protocols across the county. I also completed my MACP and other postgraduate training.
I moved to Birmingham and became one of the first Extended Scope Physiotherapists in the country working in clinic alongside a spinal orthopaedic consultant and independently ordering investigations and managing patients. Whilst here I presented my research findings at a National Physiotherapy Congress for two consecutive years and also won a scholarship to attend the World Congress in Japan. I moved to Surrey in 2000 initially working as a Clinical Spinal Specialist in Woking and subsequently taking up an Extended Scope Spinal Specialist position. This combined with my special interest in rehabilitation and my passion for treating complex sporting injuries. I have worked at Spire Clare Park since 2004 combining my position with work as an advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy practitioner in the NHS. I have recently become clinical lead in outpatients at Clare Park and am responsible for developing and continuing to promote the excellent skills in the department.
I also have a diploma in golf rehabilitation together with postgraduate qualifications in running assessment and lower limb rehabilitation. I am currently studying for an MSC in neuromusculoskeletal medicine. I am a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine (ACPSEM) and Advanced Practice Physiotherapy Network (APPN) special interest groups.
Special clinical interests: Spinal conditions, hip and knee, sports injury, pain management, musculoskeletal, core stability and gym based rehabilitation, spinal diagnosis and treatment, sports injuries and rehabilitation, complex musculoskeletal rehab.
I am a keen dingy sailor and squash player and enjoy skiing, cycling and walking.Back to top
