I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for 18 years and specialise in the treatment of knee injuries and arthritis. I was the consulting knee surgeon to the Defence Medical Services Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court for 12 years. My military experience has given me experience in treating elite sports injuries. I have an interest in exercise induced leg pain (chronic exertional compartment syndrome).
I specialise in sports injuries of the knee (ligament, menisci and articular cartilage damage) and the treatment of early arthritis with techniques that preserve the knee for as long as possible before requiring a knee replacement. I perform osteotomies, partial and total knee replacement, including custom made knees.
I am experienced in soft tissue knee surgery including ligament reconstruction, meniscal and articular cartilage repair and realignment surgery (osteotomy) for early arthritis. I carry out partial and total knee replacements for arthritis. I have an interest in the treatment of chronic exertional compartment syndrome.
I am the chief of service for the orthopaedic and plastic surgery departments at Frimley Park, Heatherwood and Wexham Park hospitals.
