As part of our longstanding relationship, we are proud to be dedicating our resources to the NHS at this important time. As a result many of our treatments are currently suspended and we are reviewing all planned procedures and consultations. We are making every effort to talk to impacted patients and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Nicholas Ward at Spire include:
I was born in Leicestershire, educated at Loughborough Grammar School and went to Leeds medical school. I joined Frimley Park Hospital in September 2010 as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery.
I graduated from medical school in 1996 and having joined the army spent two years in Germany looking after the soldiers and families of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. I have subsequently served as an orthopaedic surgeon in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.
I carried out my basic surgical training at Frimley Park Hospital, before entering higher specialist orthopaedic training in Wessex and Oxford. I am fellowship trained, having undertaken specialist foot and ankle fellowships in Oxford, at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, and in Portsmouth. I have been lectured on foot and ankle surgery both nationally and internationally.
I have published papers both on foot and ankle surgery and trauma within international journals. My special interests are in arthroscopic surgery, forefoot surgery, rheumatoid arthritis and sports injuries. I cover all aspects of foot and ankle surgery in my NHS practice, and am part of a multi disciplinary team involved with treating diabetic foot problems. I am a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) and the British Orthopaedic Association.
