I undertook specialist respiratory and intensive care medicine training in London. During this period, I was awarded a Wellcome Trust Training Fellowship to study tuberculosis. This culminated in the award of a PhD in molecular microbiology from Imperial College in 2003.
I have been a consultant chest physician at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust since 2004. I am a specialist in respiratory and general internal medicine.
I have been a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians since 2007 and was awarded a founding Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management in 2018.
