BSc MSc MRCP (UK) FRACP
I am a full-time substantive Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon at North Bristol NHS Trust. My clinical practice encompasses the full breadth of general dermatology, including adult and older paediatric dermatology, systemic therapies, and teledermatology.
I have a special interest in skin cancer and advanced dermatological surgery, and I undertake a dedicated weekly Mohs micrographic surgery list within the NHS.
Before my role with Spire, I was Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon at the New Zealand Dermatology & Skin Cancer Centre, Wellington. I am Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the NZ Dermatological Society.
I completed my dermatology registrar training across Bristol, Exeter, and Plymouth.
I subsequently undertook a highly regarded 12-month fellowship at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne—one of Europe’s largest Mohs surgery centres—where I received advanced training in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, nail surgery, and lasers. During that year, I performed nearly 1,500 skin surgeries, including skin cancer removals using Mohs surgery, Mohs reconstructions, and conventional skin cancer removals.
I am a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. As a Mohs surgeon, I have been trained to an exceptional standard in cutaneous reconstruction and have undertaken hundreds of graft and flap reconstructions.
I always strive for the neatest and most discrete surgical scar possible. I am very experienced with full skin checks, lesion assessment and management.
I have a strong interest in clinical academia, sustainability in dermatology, and medical education. I am passionate about making health information easy for patients to understand and access. I lead the international Dermatology Sustainability Network, hosted by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare. I have led projects that have been presented at national and international conferences and have given invited national presentations on several occasions. To date, I have published close to 40 peer-reviewed papers, including several original studies.
