BSc, MBChB, MRCP (UK)
I have been a Consultant Dermatologist in Bristol since 2016. My private dermatology interests include the diagnosis of skin rashes, acne treatment, vulval dermatology, and skin cancer. I offer mole and full skin checks and carry out minor skin surgery regularly as part of my private and NHS practices. I hold an NHS Consultant Dermatologist post at North Bristol NHS Trust, Southmead Hospital.
After completing a bachelor of science degree (BSc) in Physiology from Cardiff University in 2003, I qualified in Medicine (MBChB) from the University of Warwick in 2007. I completed core medical training and achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011. I trained as a specialist in Dermatology in Bristol and Bath hospitals for 5 years before gaining my consultant post in 2016. I am a registered specialist with the General Medical Council, and a full member of the British Association of Dermatologists.
I have extensive training in managing a breadth of dermatology conditions from acne to eczema.
Treated conditions include (Adults only) acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, acute rashes for diagnosis, skin infections (including fungal and yeast infections), molluscum, viral warts/verrucas, alopecia (hair loss), vitiligo, age spots (seborrhoeic keratoses) and blistering skin diseases
I am a specialist in female genital dermatology and I am experienced in treating vulval conditions including lichen sclerosus, psoriasis, and eczema. I receive referrals from consultants from the south-west of England and lead the NHS vulval skin service at Southmead Hospital. A vulval consultation with me includes a detailed assessment of the genital skin and a comprehensive treatment plan (if a vulval skin biopsy is indicated this will incur an extra fee).
One of my core roles is the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous skin lesions and skin cancer. Services include dermoscopy, mole checks, skin lesion assessment and skin surgery. I have performed thousands of minor procedures to date comprising of skin biopsies and excisions of lesions on the body, head and neck.
