I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Yale Hospital and Spire Abergele Clinic. I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in North Wales since 2007. I specialise in knee and hip replacement surgery, as well as sports injury surgery of the knee and shoulder. My areas of expertise include partial knee replacement, knee ligament reconstruction and arthroscopic knee surgery.

I perform a wide range of elective orthopaedic procedures. My knee surgery practice includes – arthroscopic knee surgery such as meniscal repair and meniscectomy, cartilage lesion surgery, cruciate ligament reconstruction, patella stabilisation surgery, removal of loose or foreign bodies, washouts and patella tendon decompression for tendinitis. I also specialise in all types of partial knee replacement and total knee replacement, as well as hip surgery including total hip replacement.

In addition, I provide arthroscopic shoulder surgery, including – rotator cuff repair, subacromial decompression, shoulder stabilisation and treatment for frozen shoulder.

I am a general orthopaedic and trauma surgeon by training, and through my higher degree and further specialist training, I have developed a particular focus on sports injury, knee and shoulder surgery. My fellowship in North America further enhanced my knowledge and expertise in this field, enabling me to provide a comprehensive and specialist service for patients across North Wales.

My other areas of expertise include – Arthrosamid® injections and arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation.

Arthrosamid® injections for knee osteoarthritis

Through a single injection into the knee's intra-articular cavity, Arthrosamid® hydrogel cushions the joint and maintains pain relief for up to five years. Unlike surgery, the injection is minimally invasive and performed as an outpatient procedure. The injection takes 15 - 20 minutes to perform.
