I am a caring and compassionate GP with 29 years of experience, with a special interest in chronic pain, chronic fatigue, mental health and the connection between mind and body. For the past five years, I have specialised in a medication‑free treatment for chronic pain called Pain Reprocessing Therapy. This is a holistic approach that recognises the role of the brain in the onset and persistence of chronic pain, the connection between mind and body, and the importance of therapy in supporting recovery.

By combining up‑to‑date pain neuroscience education with simple cognitive, behavioural and mindfulness techniques, it is possible to identify the effects of stress, emotions and past trauma, learn to regulate the nervous system and retrain the brain to switch off unnecessary pain signals. This approach aims to empower patients to break free from the cycle of chronic pain, anxiety and distress, without the need for medication or invasive procedures.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy can be suitable for a wide range of chronic pain conditions, including – chronic abdominal or pelvic pain, chronic headaches and migraines, chronic neck or back pain, chronic primary pain of unknown cause, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, painful bladder syndrome, and widespread chronic pain with or without fatigue.

For chronic pain management in Wrexham, the initial consultation lasts approximately 50 minutes to allow a full assessment of your pain, along with discussion and advice regarding your suitability for Pain Reprocessing Therapy. If appropriate, I typically recommend a course of 6–8 individualised therapy sessions, depending on the complexity of the problem, to help you learn practical techniques to regulate and reduce your pain.

Please note that this is a medication‑free approach, and I do not prescribe medication or offer injections or other invasive procedures as part of this treatment pathway.

My areas of expertise include – Chronic Pain Management in Wrexham, Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy.
