Specialises in
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon specialising in primary and revision joint replacement surgery, robotic-assisted joint replacement and complex lower limb reconstruction. Following specialist Orthopaedic training in the UK, fellowship training in lower limb replacement at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, and further specialist experience at the internationally renowned ENDO-Klinik Hamburg, Germany, I have developed expertise in the management of both routine and complex hip and knee conditions. I am fully certified in MAKO robotic-arm assisted hip and knee replacement surgery and have performed more than 100 robotic procedures with excellent outcomes. Alongside my clinical practice, I hold leadership roles in trauma and surgical site infection prevention, contribute to international research collaborations, and am passionate about delivering personalised, evidence-based care using the latest advances in joint replacement surgery.
I specialise exclusively in hip and knee surgery, providing comprehensive care for patients with arthritis, sports-related injuries and complex reconstructive problems affecting the lower limb. My practice includes primary hip replacement, complex hip reconstruction, revision hip replacement, primary knee replacement, partial knee replacement, complex revision knee surgery and lower limb reconstruction. I am fully certified in MAKO robotic-arm assisted hip and knee replacement surgery, enabling highly personalised surgical planning and implant positioning. In addition, I perform knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), hip and knee injections, and non-operative treatments for a range of hip and knee conditions. I have a particular interest in the management of prosthetic joint infections, fractures around joint replacements and failed joint replacements, as well as helping patients return to an active lifestyle through a tailored treatment approach that prioritises function, mobility and long-term outcomes.
I have performed more than 350 hip and knee replacement procedures, including over 100 MAKO robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements. My surgical practice encompasses primary joint replacement, complex revision replacement and lower limb reconstruction, with particular expertise in managing complications of joint replacement surgery, including joint infection and fractures. Fellowship training in lower limb joint replacement and specialist experience at ENDO-Klinik Hamburg have provided invaluable exposure to complex reconstructive surgery and contemporary revision techniques. This breadth of experience enables me to offer patients a comprehensive and personalised approach to both straightforward and complex hip and knee problems.
In addition to my clinical practice, I hold several leadership and management roles within Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. I serve as the Orthopaedic Trauma Lead, overseeing the delivery and development of trauma services, and as the Surgical Site Infection Lead, leading initiatives to improve patient safety, reduce complications and enhance clinical outcomes. I am also the Mortality Lead for the department, contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement and the continuous review of patient outcomes to ensure the highest standards of care.
