Professional profile

Mr Malik has worked as a Consultant Podiatrist in the West Midlands for over 15 years, and comes to the area with a wealth of experience in treating foot problems from both a conservative and surgical perspective. As a Podiatrist John has specialised in the foot from onset of training, and as a Podiatric Surgeon has concentrated on providing day case ambulatory foot surgery primarily under local anaesthetic, in community settings.

Mr Malik holds a substantive NHS appointment as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon and is the Chair of the Podiatric Surgery Quality Group, for the College of Podiatrists. He is an external examiner to Queen Margaret’s University in the area of Podiatric Surgery at Master’s level and has lectured widely both in the UK and internationally. He is a former Head of the Birmingham School of Podiatry and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Personal Profile

 I am currently the chair of the Faculty Quality Group for the Faculty of Surgery, College of Podiatrists and as such mainly oversee aspects of examination for aspiring Podiatric Surgeons... I maintain an active interest in education and training... In my free time I enjoy walking, badminton and swimming, with my partner and friends... I also play classical guitar and am an Associate of the Birmingham School of Music.
