Dr Jasper Trevelyan

I am a Consultant Cardiologist in Worcester, specialising in General Cardiology, with a sub‑specialty focus on Interventional and Invasive Cardiology. I have been in private practice since 2007, offering expert cardiac assessment and treatment to patients across Worcester and Worcestershire.

My special clinical interests include: percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI / Angioplasty), coronary angiography, interventional cardiology and echocardiography.

Alongside interventional procedures, I have extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of chest pain, angina, heart failure, hypertension (high blood pressure), valvular heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias.

I qualified in Medicine from the University of Bristol in 1993 and completed specialist training in general and interventional cardiology in both the UK and New Zealand, working across four high‑volume interventional cardiac centres.
As a National Heart Research Fund Fellow, I completed my MD in 2002 at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and the University of Warwick. I am also a British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accredited echocardiographer, providing advanced cardiac imaging to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

In 2006, I was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Worcestershire Royal Hospital with responsibility for establishing the local coronary angioplasty service. This service commenced in October 2008 and has grown into a highly respected interventional cardiology programme, now treating over 1,100 patients annually from across Worcestershire and the surrounding region.
Patients benefit from timely access to angiography, angioplasty, and modern PCI techniques, delivered locally by an experienced Worcester-based cardiologist.

I currently hold several senior leadership roles, including: Clinical Lead for Cardiology Services, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and NHS England Cardiac Lead for the West Midlands.

I previously served for nine years as Divisional Medical Director for Specialty Medicine, contributing to the development of high‑quality, safe cardiology services regionally and nationally.
