Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Medicine, with vast experience in managing complex diabetes, all types of endocrine (hormone-related medical conditions), and general medical conditions.
I run specialised endocrine clinics such as the Regional Joint Pituitary and endocrine-reproductive disorders clinics. My expertise includes managing pituitary disorders (acromegaly, Cushing's disease, prolactin issues, diabetes insipidus, growth hormone replacement), thyroid, adrenal, parathyroid (calcium disorders), osteoporosis, hormone-related fatigue and tiredness (thyroid, adrenal, metabolic factors), and endocrine- reproductive disorders such as infertility, PCOS, hypogonadism, erectile dysfunction, testosterone deficiency (testosterone replacement therapy), and women' s health, including hormone-related menstrual disorders, perimenopausal transition, and post-menopausal management with hormonal replacement therapy (HRT). More information on this can be found on my website.
My expertise in diabetes includes managing poorly controlled and complex diabetes, diabetic kidney disease, diabetic foot disease, neuropathy, dietary and weight-related complexities, weight management (lifestyle and medications), and newer technologies and devices for monitoring. I firmly believe in empowering patients to manage their diabetes through education and self-management.
I have a strong interest in clinical education and research. Previously, I served as a visiting professor at Hope University. My involvement in education has included being the RCP College Tutor for Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the former Specialty Trainee Teaching Lead for diabetes and endocrinology trainees at Mersey Deanery, the lead for diabetes education at the Royal Liverpool Academy, and the patron of the diabetes diploma and fellowship programme through Medvarsity. Additionally, I co-founded Medexcell Education, which organised regular courses on leadership skills, teaching skills, and critical appraisal of medical literature to promote evidence-based medicine.
As Clinical Director for the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Royal Liverpool University Hospital, I have introduced many innovative transformational initiatives to enhance the department's profile, efficiency, and patient outcomes over the years. Our innovative twice-daily ward round and Diabetes Review and Discharge Support (DRDS) model have reduced hospital stay and readmission rates. At the same time, the creation of an in-house outpatient review hub, along with the first follow-up nurse-led clinic, has reduced waiting times, achieved excellent patient outcomes, and improved staff satisfaction. I have been an integral member of Liverpool Diabetes Partnership (LDP) to support excellent diabetes service delivery and continually endeavour to improve the support framework.
I consistently focus on patient welfare, safety, and satisfaction by clearly discussing current evidence-based medicine and patient preferences.

I am a British Indian, trained in Diabetes and Endocrinology specialty at Mersey Deanery, Liverpool, following my graduation and post-graduation (MD Medicine) from India.
I am married and have two children who are my soul and greatest “educators.” My interests are predominantly of a “quieter” nature. I enjoy reading, sketching, listening to light semi-classical Indian music, and exploring concepts surrounding the mysteries of life. I consider myself a patient listener and an impatient answer seeker.
I love cooking cultural cuisines and share this passion with my wife, a nutritionist and public health educator.
