I am a Consultant Surgeon specialising in orthopaedic surgery of the upper limb. I have worked at Wirral University Teaching Hospital for 9 years in trauma and orthopaedics. My interests span the breadth of elective and trauma conditions of the shoulder, focusing on osteoarthritis of the shoulder and joint replacement surgery as well as keyhole surgery on the shoulder.
During my training I achieved a diploma in sports and exercise medicine as sports related injuries are of particular interest. I also subspecialise in surgery on the elbow, wrist and hand with a particular interest in disorders of nerves and tendons.
I graduated from the University of Manchester and then undertook my initial training at the Royal Preston Hospital before completing my Orthopaedic training in the Mersey Deanery. Towards the end of my training, I worked in Wrightington Hospital sub-specialising in complex shoulder replacement surgery and then nerve surgery of the upper limb. I then went on to a British Elbow and Shoulder Society recommended fellowship in Chesterfield where I undertook further training in shoulder and elbow surgery along with hand and wrist surgery.
