MBBS, MS(Orth), DNB(Orth), FRCS Ed, FRCS (Tr & Orth), Dipl. Sports & Exercise Medicine
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions, with particular expertise in complex knee problems and sports‑related injuries. My practice includes the treatment of knee pain, bursitis, ligament and cartilage injuries, and patello‑femoral (kneecap) conditions, as well as primary and revision hip and knee replacements.
I completed my medical training with distinction, before beginning my orthopaedic training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. After moving to the UK, I undertook registrar training in trauma and orthopaedics across Yorkshire and Northern Ireland, followed by specialist training in knee surgery in Bournemouth and hip surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. I also completed advanced training in limb reconstruction in Baltimore, USA.
My surgical interests include arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery for meniscal, cartilage and ligament injuries, complex knee conditions including patello‑femoral problems, and both primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. Wherever possible, I explore alternatives to joint replacement and offer non‑replacement treatment options that may better suit a patient’s needs and lifestyle.
I also manage complex lower limb trauma using minimally invasive techniques and circular fixators, and regularly treat sports injuries of the hip and knee.
Alongside my clinical work, I teach on national courses including Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling, hill walking and gardening.
