Specialises in
I am a Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon with specialist expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of hand, wrist and peripheral nerve conditions.
I treat problems such as arthritis, nerve compression (including carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes), Dupuytren’s disease, trigger finger and wrist injuries. I also manage fractures such as scaphoid injuries and non-unions, and perform procedures including wrist arthroscopy, joint replacement and minimally invasive surgery.
A key focus of my practice is using modern “wide awake” local anaesthetic techniques, allowing many procedures to be carried out without a general anaesthetic. This approach enables real-time functional assessment during surgery, reduces risks and often supports a quicker recovery for patients.
Alongside my specialist work, I provide general orthopaedic trauma care and fracture fixation. I have completed advanced fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery at leading centres, including Wrightington Hospital and the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, and continue to develop my skills in the latest techniques.
I am also actively involved in teaching as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and contribute to the training of future surgeons. In addition, I hold a leadership role in audit and quality improvement within the NHS.
My approach is centred on understanding each patient’s goals and delivering personalised, effective care.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, including hiking and open water swimming, as well as following rugby.
