I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in retinal and cataract surgery, providing expert care for a wide range of eye conditions.
I support patients with problems such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment and macular holes, as well as more general eye concerns including cataracts and glaucoma. My work includes advanced procedures such as vitrectomy and retinal detachment repair, alongside cataract surgery tailored to each patient’s vision and lifestyle needs.
I am particularly experienced in managing complex retinal conditions, using evidence-based techniques to help preserve and improve vision wherever possible. I also offer a range of lens options, including advanced intraocular lenses, to provide the best outcomes following cataract surgery.
Alongside my work at Spire, I am Clinical Lead for the Macular Degeneration Service at Arrowe Park Hospital, where I provide both general and specialist retinal care. I am actively involved in teaching and training, supporting junior doctors, optometrists and nursing staff, and continue to contribute to research to ensure my practice reflects the latest developments in ophthalmology.
My approach is centred on clear communication and reassurance, ensuring patients feel fully informed and supported throughout their care.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, swimming and cycling, and spending time with my family.
