B Med Sci (Hons), BMBS, FRCP
I am a General Adult Dermatologist with a particular interest in inflammatory skin conditions and skin cancer. I qualified from Nottingham University Medical School in 1990 and have since worked across the UK, as well as spending 12 months practising in Australia. I completed my specialist dermatology training in Liverpool in 2000 and became a Consultant Dermatologist in 2001, based primarily at Broadgreen Hospital.
I have extensive experience in managing conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea, and I take a holistic, patient‑centred approach to long‑term skin disease. My clinical interests also include skin cancer, phototherapy for inflammatory skin disease, and the management of more complex conditions such as cutaneous lymphoma.
Alongside my clinical work, I have held a number of senior leadership roles. I was Clinical Director and Clinical Lead for Dermatology and Allergy at Broadgreen Hospital between 2010 and 2018 and continue to play a key regional role as Secondary Care Dermatology Clinical Lead for Cheshire and Merseyside. I have also represented the North West for the British Association of Dermatologists and acted as Regional Specialty Adviser in Dermatology for the Royal College of Physicians.
Following the Royal, Broadgreen and Aintree merger, I now work within Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. My focus is on delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care while ensuring patients feel listened to, informed, and supported throughout their treatment.
