Virtual consultations:
I am a consultant in pain medicine and Anaesthesia at Liverpool University Hospitals. I'm privileged to have gained training and experience across three different healthcare systems.
In pain medicine, I adopt a holistic approach aimed at improving the quality of life and regaining the functionality of my patients. Within that approach, I applied interventional procedures and pharmacologic management as indicated hand in hand with the help of physiotherapy and pain psychology whenever indicated to achieve optimum outcomes for my patients and help them to regain the quality of life they are aspiring to. I also adopted trauma informed care for my patients whenever there is an element of psychologic trauma as part of the chronic pain disorder.
I qualified in 2005 from a prestigious medical school in Egypt at Ain Shams University. I then finished the residency programme in Anaesthesia, Critical care and Pain medicine and gained a Master of science in Anaesthesia. After that, I was appointed as a teaching assistant in the University.
I moved to Saudi Arabia in 2011 where I worked for two years between the independent sector and King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah. I moved to the UK in 2013 where I carried on further training at Newcastle University Hospitals until I moved to Manchester in 2015 where I worked as a senior clinical fellow at Manchester University Hospitals and then joined the national training programme. During my training, I was privileged to receive pain training between prestigious institutes in the Northwest region of England at Manchester University Hospitals, Lancashire teaching Hospitals, Salford Royal Hospital, and the Walton Centre.
I gained a fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists FRCA, a European diploma in intensive care EDIC, and a fellowship from the faculty of pain medicine FFPMRCA. I also gained a postgraduate certificate in medical education from Edge Hill University as part of my interest in supporting undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
