I am a Consultant Chest Physician since 2009 with experience managing patients with complex respiratory conditions. My specialist interests include COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, and difficult lung infections including non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung infections. I am a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, with an over 20 years experience amanaging patients with COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis (CF), oxygen therapy and complex lung infections including TB and non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung disease. I graduated with a medical degree (MB BCh) from University of Cardiff in 1998 and went on to complete a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in 2007, focusing on the impact of respiratory viruses in patients with CF.
I served as Respiratory Consultant at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge from 2009 until 2012 during which I dedicated in looking after patient with CF and non-CF bronchiectasis. In 2012, I moved to Liverpool when I joined the Adult Cystic Fibrosis and respiratory community services at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
I am actively involved in clinical research and serves as principal investigator for multiple clinical research trials. I have published widely in peer-reviewed medical journals and contributed to several book chapters on pulmonary microbiology, COPD, bronchiectasis, CF exacerbations, and cardiovascular health in CF, reinforcing my commitment to advancing the field of respiratory medicine.
