Spire Liverpool Hospital Porter raises over £4K for Zoe's Place charity

03 September 2014

Jimmy Murphy, a hospital porter at Spire Liverpool Hospital, has raised more than £4,000 for charity Zoe's Place.

Jimmy with friend Geoff Smith has been running a bonus ball competition at Spire Hospital Liverpool for the last four years and in that time has managed to raise thousands of pounds to help the work of Zoe's Place hospice.

The hospice provides a home from home environment for babies and infants aged from birth to five years old who have life threatening or limiting conditions.

Zoe's Place is the only baby specific hospice in the UK offering free palliative, respite and end of life care and support of families.

Jimmy Murphy said: "Myself and Geoff have always been big supporters of the Zoe's Place charity and Spire Liverpool staff as a whole were keen to do some regular fundraising work for the organisation. The bonus ball competition is something I've been running for years and in that time I'm really pleased to say we have raised thousands to help the charity in its work supporting families."

Jimmy and Geoff even made it into the Liverpool Echo
