- Spire Liverpool Hospital consultant Miss Taghizadeh wins Champions Cup at international breast surgery symposium
Miss Rieka Taghizadeh, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Spire Liverpool Hospital, has been recognised on the international stage after winning the prestigious “Champions Cup” at the annual Onco & Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Symposium in Brussels.
The symposium forms part of the well-established BOOBS (Brussels Onco- & Oncoplastic Breast Surgery) Symposium, which brings together leading experts from around the world to share developments, discuss complex cases, and explore advancements in oncologic and plastic breast surgery. Its core aim is to bridge the gap between these two specialist fields to support improved patient outcomes.
One of the central features of the symposium is the Champions Cup, which is a structured debate involving breast surgeons and aesthetic/plastic surgeons. Participants present differing perspectives on surgical techniques and decision-making, with the winning faculty selected for the strength of their evidence, clinical reasoning, and ability to advocate for best patient outcomes.
This year, Miss Taghizadeh and her faculty were awarded the title, reflecting their exceptional expertise and contribution to advancing best practice in breast surgery.
