Professional profile

I am a consultant urological and robotic surgeon at Royal Liverpool University Teaching hospital and honorary senior lecturer at Liverpool medical university. I routinely manage patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), prostate problems including elevated PSA blood test and haematuria (blood in pee), erectile dysfunction, bladder dysfunction, renal stones, penile and testicular disorders. I provide a wide range of endoscopic, open and robotic procedures including circumcision, cystoscopy, excision of scrotal lumps, urinary stone and prostate surgery (TURP). My special interests include managing prostate and bladder cancer patients (pelvic oncology).

I obtained primary medical qualification and post-graduate surgical training in India. After completing my initial urological training around Liverpool and two-years research in Merseyside, I moved to Leeds for specialist urological and robotic surgery training. Furthermore, to enhance my robotic skills, I completed ERUS robotic training with Prof Mottrie in Belgium and undertook a clinical visit to Cornell University, New York.

I have published and presented extensively in international urology journals and conferences and am currently continuing my audit and research activity by becoming involved in ongoing projects. I am a keen teacher and currently hold honorary lecture post at the University of Liverpool School of Medicine. I am currently simulation lead for urology at Mersey deanery and been involved in several simulation and teaching courses.
