I am a Senior NHS consultant cardiologist and I'm the clinical lead for heart failure services. I am honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds.
I obtained my MBBS (honors) degree from Meerut University in India. Thereafter I completed my postgraduate education with successful completion of MD (Medicine) to practice as a physician and thereafter DM (Cardiology) to practice as a consultant cardiologist.
I came to the United Kingdom in 1996 and gained further extensive experience in angiography, pacemaker, angioplasties and complex bi-ventricular pacemakers. I have worked as a consultant cardiologist since 2005 and have a wide experience of general cardiological conditions such as angina, heart failure, palpitations and syncope (fainting). i have a special interest in heart failure, hypertension and atrial fibrillation. I have vast experience with cardiac risk assessment prior to non-cardiac surgery. I have championed primary prevention advice and regularly run ‘heart wise’ clinics.
I have published extensively in Cardiology and am co-author of a book on Cardiology. I have more than 65 other original publications in peer reviewed journals and have also written 2 chapters in another book on Cardiology.
I'm an active member of British Society of Echocardiography, British Society of Heart Failure, British Cardiovascular Society and British Medical Association.
