MRI uses a large diagnostic magnet and radio frequency wave to produce both two and three dimensional pictures of the inside of your body. It’s suitable for use on most parts of the body. Our short, wide-bore scanner offers more space and reduces the feeling of claustrophobia. A calming scan room with wall mural allows anxious patients to have a more comfortable experience.
Neurology ‐ MRI can provide exquisite detail of the brain, spinal cord and vascular anatomy. Common neurological problems which may be diagnosed include strokes, headaches, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and dementia. Spine MRI can be used to detect reasons for back or nerve pain and a lack of sensation or control of a limbs.
Physiotherapy ‐ MRI scans are an invaluable tool for physical therapists to accurately diagnose and assess movement dysfunction and pain. MRI can capture detailed images of adult musculoskeletal injuries such as sports injuries, whiplash or back problems.
