I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist providing specialist eye care for patients in Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire and across East Yorkshire. I specialise in cataract surgery, oculoplastics and aesthetic eye procedures, offering expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of eyelid and ocular conditions. My focus is on delivering safe, effective and personalised care to improve vision, comfort and overall quality of life.
From my early specialist training through to consultant practice, I have remained committed to clear communication and patient-centred care. I take time to explain each condition and treatment option in a straightforward, reassuring way, ensuring my patients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their care.
I provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for conditions including droopy eyelids (ptosis), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), eyelid tightening, entropion and ectropion, watery eyes and tear duct (lacrimal) disorders, eyelid lumps and cysts, and eyelid skin cancers, including surgical removal and reconstruction. I also specialise in cataract surgery, including premium lens options to enhance vision, as well as YAG laser treatment following cataract procedures where needed. My approach combines functional restoration with excellent cosmetic outcomes tailored to each patient.
I have extensive experience across both NHS and private practice, having performed over 1,200 cataract operations, more than 2,000 eyelid procedures, and treated over 500 cases of eyelid skin cancer, including complex reconstructions. Alongside my clinical work, I am the Eye Casualty Department Lead at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I oversee urgent eye care services for the local population. I also contribute to education and training as Assistant Clinical Dean and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School, a Master’s tutor at the University of Edinburgh, and an Examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
