I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist providing specialist care for patients in Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire and across East Yorkshire. I specialise in oculoplastic, aesthetic and cataract surgery, offering expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of eyelid and eye conditions including eye aesthetic procedures. My approach is centred on delivering safe, effective and personalised care, helping patients improve their vision, eye comfort and day to day quality of life.
From my early specialist training through to my consultant practice, I have remained committed to clear communication and patient‑centred decision‑making. I take the time to explain conditions and treatment options in a straightforward way, ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed and supported throughout their care.
I provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of eyelid, tear duct and cataract conditions, including droopy eyelids (ptosis), aesthetic blepharoplasty and eyelid tightening, In‑turning and out‑turning eyelids (entropion and ectropion), watery eyes and tear duct (lacrimal) disorders, eyelid lumps and cysts, eyelid skin cancers, including surgical removal and reconstruction, cataracts, including modern premium lens options to improve vision and YAG laser treatment following cataract surgery when needed.
My practice is driven by a commitment to combining functional restoration with excellent cosmetic outcomes tailored to each patient’s needs.
I have extensive experience working across both NHS and private practice in Hull and East Yorkshire. Over my career, I have performed more than 1,200 cataract operations, carried out over 2,000 eyelid procedures, and treated more than 500 cases of eyelid skin cancer, including complex surgical reconstruction. Alongside my clinical work, I am the Eye Casualty Department Lead at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I oversee urgent eye care services for the local population. I also serve as Assistant Clinical Dean and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School, contributing to the education and training of medical students and junior doctors. In addition, I act as a Tutor for Master’s degree students at the University of Edinburgh and as an Examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, helping to maintain high national standards in ophthalmology training and practice.
