I am an extensively trained laparoscopic colorectal surgeon. I completed my postgraduate basic surgical training in Ireland before working as a Senior Registrar at leading institutions in Dublin. I then moved to Hull to undertake a Colorectal Fellowship, further developing my expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of bowel conditions. Since 2020, I have worked as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.
I specialise in the treatment of both benign and malignant colorectal conditions. This includes colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, anal fissures and complex perianal fistulas. I have a particular interest in the management of benign and malignant rectal polyps.
Alongside my colorectal practice, I also carry out general surgical procedures, including surgery for groin and ventral hernias, as well as pilonidal disease.
I perform both upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy procedures to investigate a wide range of digestive and colorectal conditions. These examinations help diagnose problems affecting the digestive system and bowel, and I have been performing these procedures for two decades.
In addition to my clinical work, I am the Clinical Governance Lead for Surgery and Endoscopy at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. I am also a Senior Lecturer for third and final year medical students at Hull York Medical School, where I contribute to undergraduate medical education. I supervise clinical audits and research activities within the hospital, supporting the ongoing development of patient care and surgical practice.
