MBBS, MS, FRCS (Gl), PCME, FRCS (GS)
I am a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with more than 13 years of experience in treating a wide range of vascular conditions. I specialise in minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins and thread veins, offering modern endovenous procedures including thermal ablation, foam sclerotherapy and injection sclerotherapy. These treatments are carried out as day-case procedures under local anaesthetic, so you can return home the same day without needing an overnight hospital stay.
Alongside varicose vein care, I provide comprehensive vascular surgery for arterial conditions including abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease to help reduce the risk of stroke and mini-stroke, and lower limb arterial disease that may require bypass surgery. I also treat leg ulcers and wounds related to arterial disease, venous disease and diabetes, with a strong focus on limb preservation. This includes both limb salvage procedures and major or minor amputations where required.
In addition, I provide long-term venous access treatments for patients requiring chemotherapy, immunotherapy or antibiotics, including the insertion of ports and tunnelled central lines.
I have worked as a Consultant at Hull Royal Infirmary for more than 12 years, caring for patients across both NHS and private practice. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to delivering high standards of patient safety, patient outcomes and patient experience.
I am passionate about education and training and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education with distinction. I also work as an FRCS and MRCS Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and contribute to national vascular training as faculty for ST3 interviews. Alongside this, I regularly teach as a CCrISP instructor and contribute internationally as a journal editor and invited speaker.
My approach is centred around providing personalised, evidence-based vascular care, ensuring every patient feels informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment journey.
