I am a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist with over 25 years’ experience caring for children who require surgical treatment. I specialise in general paediatric surgery, with a particular focus on paediatric urology, providing patient-centred care for a wide range of conditions affecting the urinary tract and external genitalia.
My practice includes the treatment of common childhood surgical conditions such as hernias, hydroceles, undescended testes and circumcision, as well as minor procedures including tongue tie release and ingrown toenail surgery. I also have extensive experience in paediatric urology, managing conditions including hypospadias and other penile abnormalities, labial adhesions, bladder dysfunction, urinary tract infections, kidney abnormalities and both daytime and night time bedwetting. Where appropriate, I offer minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery for selected conditions including undescended testes and varicocele.
Throughout my career, I have performed more than 4,000 hernia repairs, 3,000 procedures for undescended testes, 1,200 hypospadias repairs, 1,000 kidney and bladder procedures and 1,500 laparoscopic operations.
I have worked within the NHS for over 12 years. Between 2007 and 2016, I worked as a Senior Clinical Fellow and later Locum Consultant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals. In 2016, I was appointed Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I have also gained additional experience and training through roles and scholarships at leading centres across the UK, including Edinburgh, Cardiff, London, Oxford and Bristol.
My approach is focused on providing clear communication, compassionate care and reassurance for both children and their families, helping them feel informed and supported throughout treatment.
