I am a consultant ophthalmologist based at Spire Hesslewood clinic, apart of Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital. I welcome patients from Hull and the East Riding and wider areas including York, Grimsby, Goole and Lincolnshire.  I have over 20 years’ of ophthalmic experience, providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of eye conditions. My surgical caseload is enjoyably varied and includes advanced refractive cataract surgery, eyelid procedures and orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease. I also run a weekly high volume cataract surgery list.

I offer a full general ophthalmic service, including cataract removal surgery, eyelid cyst removal and cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty or eyebag removal). I specialise in oculoplastic and lacrimal conditions, treating disorders such as ectropion, entropion, ptosis, eyelid lesions and cysts, as well as watering eyes and other lacrimal disorders. My work also encompasses orbital pathology management, periocular plastic surgery and the treatment of periocular skin cancer.

Teaching is an important part of my role and encompasses both undergraduate and postgraduate roles. In addition, I lecture to local GPs and optometrists. I am a senior lecturer for Hull York Medical School and have published and lectured widely.

I am a member of the medical advisory committee at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital. I am the Medical Director for Family and Women’s Health Group, Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
