MBBS, MRCP (UK)
I am a Consultant Physician specialising in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Hull University Hospitals NHS Trust. I completed my specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in Wessex in 2014 before being appointed as a Locum Consultant Endocrinologist in Southampton. I joined Hull in January 2015 and have nine years of Consultant clinical experience.
I care for patients with a wide range of hormonal and metabolic conditions, offering clear explanations, personalised treatment plans and ongoing support. My specialist interests include pituitary and adrenal disorders, thyroid and parathyroid conditions, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and gynaecological endocrinology. I also treat patients with diabetes, obesity and other endocrine conditions including thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency and pituitary disorders.
I have particular expertise in gynaecological endocrinology, including the management of PCOS, amenorrhoea and hirsutism. I also specialise in pituitary and adrenal disease, treating conditions such as non-functioning pituitary tumours, Cushing’s syndrome, acromegaly, prolactinomas, Addison’s disease, adrenal insufficiency, adrenal incidentalomas, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, phaeochromocytomas and hyperaldosteronism.
In thyroid and parathyroid medicine, I diagnose and manage conditions including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, hyperparathyroidism, hypercalcaemia, hypocalcaemia and vitamin D deficiency.
I established and chair our regional adrenal multidisciplinary team (MDT) and am a core member of the regional pituitary and thyroid MDTs. Working closely with colleagues across specialties allows me to provide coordinated care for patients with complex endocrine conditions.
Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about medical education and currently serve as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School. I have held leadership roles in medical training programmes, including serving as Training Programme Director for foundation and internal medicine training.
I am also committed to improving healthcare services and patient pathways. My work has included establishing MDTs, authoring trust guidelines, developing pathways for managing adrenal incidentalomas and supporting clinical trials through collaboration with our academic department.
Currently, I serve as Clinical Governance and Educational Lead within the department. I remain dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care while supporting high-quality training for future healthcare professionals.
