I am a Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac device implantation, and I have been working at consultant level for seven years. I have extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including outpatient ambulatory monitoring, electrophysiology studies and cardiac ablation procedures for a wide range of arrhythmias.

My practice includes the management of conditions such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular arrhythmias. I perform complex cardiac ablation procedures, including cases using advanced electro-anatomic mapping technology, as well as epicardial ventricular tachycardia ablation. I also specialise in the implantation and management of pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs) and cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices.

To date, I have performed close to 800 cardiac ablations and 1,000 cardiac device procedures during my training and consultant career. I also have expertise in inherited cardiac conditions and am part of the established specialist team supporting this service at Hull University Teaching Hospitals, where I manage the arrhythmia aspects of patient care.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a local principal investigator and participant in international clinical trials at Hull University Teaching Hospitals and currently serve as Joint Clinical Lead in Cardiology.

I specialise in all aspects of cardiac rhythm management, including ambulatory heart rhythm assessment using Holter monitors, CardioMemo and Kardia mobile devices, interpretation of ECGs, exercise testing and the management of patients with implanted cardiac devices. I also work closely with cardiac imaging services to ensure accurate diagnosis and personalised treatment planning.

My specialist interests include atypical atrial flutter ablation using electro-anatomic mapping, ablation procedures for supraventricular tachycardia and typical atrial flutter, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, PVC ablation and redo atrial fibrillation ablations using radiofrequency and mapping techniques.

We are also currently introducing conduction system pacing within my NHS practice, with plans for this treatment to become available privately once the service is fully established.

My approach is focused on providing clear explanations, evidence-based treatment and personalised care to help patients feel informed, reassured and supported throughout their treatment journey.
