Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Neurologist and have been working in Hull since 1998, specialising in neurology since 2003. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
In my NHS role at Hull Royal Infirmary, I am actively involved in clinical leadership as Chair of the Neurology Clinical Governance Committee. I am also the lead for multiple sclerosis services across Hull, East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire, helping to guide and develop care for patients with this condition.
I care for patients with a broad range of neurological conditions, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, migraine and stroke. I also regularly support people with motor neurone disease, neuropathy (nerve damage), neuro-muscular disorders, dystonia, ataxia, myelitis, optic neuritis, cognitive disorders and functional neurological disorders.
Many patients come to see me with symptoms such as headaches, numbness or tingling, blackouts, seizures, tremor, weakness, problems with balance or coordination, speech difficulties and memory concerns. I understand that these symptoms can be worrying, and I aim to provide clear assessments and explanations to help you better understand what may be causing them.
My main area of special interest is multiple sclerosis. I have particular expertise in diagnosing and managing this condition, and I work closely with patients to develop a personalised approach to their care, supporting them at every stage of their journey.
