I am a Consultant Paediatrician with over 20 years of experience in children’s healthcare, specialising in paediatric respiratory medicine. Since 2018, I have worked in Hull, caring for children with both general medical conditions and complex breathing and lung disorders. Families value my approachable manner, clear communication, and commitment to involving parents in every step of their child’s care.
I specialise in children’s breathing and lung problems, including asthma, wheeze, chronic cough, chest infections, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and long-term lung disease in premature babies. I also support children with sleep-related breathing problems such as snoring, and rare conditions including primary ciliary dyskinesia. Alongside my respiratory work, I manage general paediatric conditions, from common infections and allergies to more complex health needs, across both acute hospital care and outpatient clinics.
Each year, I deliver over 150 specialist outpatient clinics and have extensive experience managing complex cases such as severe asthma and neuro-respiratory conditions and rare lung conditions. I offer a comprehensive range of investigations and treatments, including spirometry, peak flow measurement and exhaled nitric oxide testing, alongside expert management of chronic cough and other chest-related conditions. Alongside this, I continue to support families with everyday health concerns, ensuring that children receive safe, effective and compassionate care.
In addition to my clinical work, I am an Honorary Tutor at Hull York Medical School, where I teach and examine medical students, and I supervise junior doctors. I lead clinical audits to continuously improve patient care and contribute to regional networks including the Yorkshire Cystic Fibrosis Network and Difficult Asthma Working Group. I am also actively involved in national and international research as a Principal Investigator in childhood respiratory studies.
