Dr Amir Alvi

I am a Consultant Rheumatologist specialising in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory and musculoskeletal conditions. I completed my specialist training in Rheumatology and General Medicine across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, working in Leeds, Hull and Grimsby. This has provided me with extensive experience in treating complex connective tissue diseases, early arthritis and the use of advanced biologic therapies.

I have been working as a Consultant Rheumatologist for over two years and am also an Honorary Senior Tutor at Hull York Medical School (HYMS), where I enjoy teaching and supporting the next generation of doctors alongside my clinical practice.

My clinical expertise covers a broad spectrum of rheumatological conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, early inflammatory arthritis, lupus and other connective tissue diseases, as well as fibromyalgia, polymyalgia and soft tissue rheumatism. I also manage osteoarthritis, spondyloarthropathy and inflammatory rheumatic disorders, alongside back pain and lumbar spine conditions. In addition, I provide comprehensive pain management approaches tailored to individual patient needs.
