Patients in the outer London area can now access the access the latest robotic-assisted surgery

Unveiled today by the Mayor of Harpenden, Councillor Kirsti Wenn, the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system will enable Spire Harpenden Hospital to perform complex operations through smaller incisions, with precision, flexibility and control.

Patients will benefit from reduced pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times. The first procedure, a prostatectomy, took place at the hospital last week, led by Consultant Urologist Mr James Michael Adshead.
